Workshop Assistant at Marylebone Theatre Company
Marylebone Theatre Company is currently looking for a creative person to assist in their weekend workshops. Candidates will need to have an interest in Performing Arts and be confident in working with children and young people aged 5-18.
Marylebone Theatre Company runs collaborative theatre workshops for children in School Years 1-13. These workshops develop the confidence of the students, in a fun and safe environment.
Job description of Workshop Assistant:
Support the Artistic Director in creating workshops and performances.
Support the Production Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the sessions.
Be responsible for small groups of children when unaccompanied.
Offer suggestions for games, scenes or movement and be prepared to lead them in front of a class of 30 students.
Must have experience of working with children.
Must have a strong interest in Performing Arts.
Must be reliable and punctual.
Must be aged 18 or over and be willing to be DBS checked.
Must have a grade C or above in GCSE English and Maths.
It is preferable that the candidate has also previously studied Drama, Music or Dance at GCSE and/or A Level.
The rate of pay is £10 per hour, for 3 hours on Saturday mornings 9am-12pm. The classes run 28 weeks out of the year and there is also an opportunity to be a part of the Marylebone Theatre Company Summer School.

Marylebone Theatre Company is held in St Marylebone School W1. It is close to Baker Street, Regent’s Park and Great Portland Street Stations. There are also many bus routes which stop nearby.
